Through clinics in our area schools, the Northeast Oral Health Project provide free dental services to school age children who may not have access to dental services.

With assistance from local school districts, registered dental hygienists, and other contributing agencies, our goal is to improve the oral health of uninsured and underinsured children. This program provides free oral screenings, education, fluoride varnish application, and sealants for students with permanent teeth.

List of Local Providers

The following is a list of dental providers compiled by the NCHD Oral Health team. This list is gathered to help the public find a dental provider and does not constitute an endorsement of any provider.

FREE services provided to participating schools through our oral health program include:

  • Oral Health Instruction: Education on proper brushing & hygiene
  • Dental Screening: A hygienist will evaluate the teeth and soft tissue for decay and other dental needs. This is not intended to replace regular visits to the dentists, but rather to supplement them. Screenings at an early age help children become more comfortable with the dentist.
  • Fluoride Varnish: A hygienist will paint fluoride varnish on your child’s teeth to protect tooth enamel and help strengthen teeth as they develop.
  • Sealants on Permanent Molars: Sealants are a thin plastic coating placed on permanent molars. This is usually done in 2nd and 6th grade because that is the point at which those teeth have erupted but do not yet have decay.
